Nesta Jade Silvera
Nesta Jade Silvera (born January 23, 2000) is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes and Arizona State Sun Devils and was selected by the Raiders in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL draft. Early life Silvera grew up in Pembroke Pines, Florida. He attended American Heritage School and helped them win back-to-back state championships and compile 27 straight wins. He was a consensus four-star recruit and compiled 79 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss and 12 sacks as a senior, being named by ''USA Today'' the Florida High School Defensive Player of the Year. He was selected for the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was ranked by 247Sports as the 54th-best prospect nationally. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. In gridiron football, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. They serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. Because the players on the practice squad are familiar with the team's plays and formations, the practice squad serves as a way to develop inexperienced players for promotion to the main roster.
