Nervous Young Man
''Nervous Young Man'' is the eighth solo album by American musician Will Toledo released under the Car Seat Headrest alias. It was self-released via Bandcamp on August 29, 2013, and served as Car Seat Headrest's final album as a solo project. A double album, clocking in at two hours and nine minutes, it is the band's longest release to date. Described on Bandcamp as featuring "tracks written from ages 17 to 21", the album was conceptualized as a "greatest hits" album, despite being composed almost entirely of newly written material. The title of the album and three of the songs come from Toledo's high school project, Nervous Young Men. Car Seat Headrest is an American indie rock band formed in Leesburg, Virginia, and currently located in Seattle, Seattle, Washington. The band consists of Will Toledo (vocals, guitar, piano, synthesizers), Ethan Ives (guitar, bass, backing vocals), Seth Dalby (bass), and Andrew Katz (drums, percussion, backing vocals). Beginning as a solo recording project by Toledo in 2010, Car Seat Headrest self-released 12 projects on the music platform Bandcamp between 2010 and 2014 before signing to Matador Records in 2015. ''Death of a Ladies' Man'' is the fifth studio album by Leonard Cohen, produced and co-written by Phil Spector. The album was in some ways a departure from Cohen's typical minimalist style by using Spector's Wall of Sound recording method, which included ornate arrangements and multiple tracks of instrument overdubs. The album was originally released in the US by Warner Bros., and on CD and the rest of the world by Cohen's long-time label, Columbia Records. How To Leave Town
''How to Leave Town'' is the second extended play (EP) by American musician Will Toledo, released under the alias Car Seat Headrest. It was self-published on Bandcamp on October 31, 2014. The EP would end up being Car Seat Headrest's final release as a solo project, and final independent release, as Toledo would expand Car Seat Headrest into a band and sign to Matador Records the next year. Material for the EP came from demos Toledo initially discarded while writing ''Teens of Denial'' (2016), and the music blends the Lo-fi music, lo-fi, indie rock, and indietronica production styles featured on his prior releases. Despite its "album-sized" length, Toledo deemed ''How to Leave Town'' an EP since it "explores realms which might have otherwise gone untreaded" on Car Seat Headrest's albums. Willie Chambers
Willie Chambers (born March 3, 1938) is an American singer, guitarist, and former member of The Chambers Brothers, a rock band in the 1960s with hits " Time Has Come Today", "I Can't Turn You Loose", and " Love, Peace and Happiness". He continues to be a regular attraction at various venues in Los Angeles and further afield. Background Along with brothers Lester, Joe and George, Willie was a founding member of The Chambers Brothers and stayed with them through their evolution which included the addition of drummer Brian Keenan in 1965 and the group's eventual breakup. Joe Chambers (born June 25, 1942) is an American jazz drummer, pianist, vibraphonist and composer. In the 1960s and 1970s, Chambers gigged with many high-profile artists such as Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, Wayne Shorter, and Chick Corea and played on several iconic Blue Note albums of the 1960s. During this period, his compositions were featured on albums by Freddie Hubbard and Bobby Hutcherson. Chambers has released sixteen albums as a bandleader and was a founding member of Max Roach's M'Boom percussion ensemble. "Time Has Come Today" is a hit single by the American psychedelic soul group the Chambers Brothers, written by Willie & Joe Chambers. The song was recorded and released as a single in 1966 by Columbia Records. It was then featured on the album '' The Time Has Come'' in November 1967, and released again as a single in December 1967. "Down by the River" is a song composed by Neil Young. It was first released on his 1969 album with Crazy Horse, ''Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere''.
