Nero Linux
Nero Linux is a port of Nero Burning ROM developed for various Linux distributions. In March 2005, software publisher Nero AG offered free licenses for Nero Linux to users of the Microsoft Windows version. Applying the GTK+ widget toolkit, Glibc, and libstdc++, Nero Linux reproduced most of the features of Nero Burning ROM. Nero AG published the final update to Nero Linux in December 2010. Nero AAC Codec
__NOTOC__ Nero AAC Codec is a set of software tools for encoding and decoding Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format audio, and editing MPEG-4 metadata. It was developed and distributed by Nero AG, and is available at no cost for Windows and Linux for non-commercial use. The codec was originally part of Nero Digital, but was later released as a stand-alone package. Nero's AAC encoder has been very competitive when tested against other encoders in scientific listening tests, for a time, second only to Apple's AAC encoder. In 2006, Chip Magazine (Germany) found that AAC files encoded with the Nero AAC encoder would consume as little as half of the space on a portable music player when compared to MP3 files of similar audio quality. Nero Digital is a brand name applied to a suite of MPEG-4-compatible video and audio compression codecs developed by Nero AG of Germany and Ateme of France. The audio codecs are integrated into the ''Nero Digital Audio+'' audio encoding tool for Microsoft Windows, and the audio & video codecs are integrated into Nero's ''Recode'' DVD ripping software.
