Nerea Pena Abaurrea (born 13 December 1989) is a Spanish handball player for Vipers Kristiansand and the Spanish national team. She participated at the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship, where Spain placed 11th, and Penea was voted into the All-Star Team. She participated at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil, where Spain placed third. The EHF Women's Champions League is the competition for the top women's team handball, handball clubs in Europe, organised annually by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the most prestigious tournament for clubs, with the champions of Europe's top national leagues participating. The 2014 Baia Mare Champions Trophy was the first Baia Mare Champions Trophy. It was held in Baia Mare, Romania from 15 to 17 August as a pre-season international women's team handball tournament for clubs.
