Nepaldev Bhattacharjee
Nepaldev Bhattacharjee (19 december 1950―13 May 2025) was an Indian politician and film director. He was a Member of Parliament, representing West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament of India, India's Parliament, as a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Political Career Bhattacharya hails from Bhatpara, North 24 Parganas district, North 24 Parganas. He was the General Secretary of Students' Federation of India for seven years from 1979. Later he became the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament, on behalf of the CPI (M) during the period of 1981-88. He was expelled from the party for anti organisation activities. Thereafter he re joined in State Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) in 2003 and remained active in trade union movement for road transport workers. The Communist Party of India (CPI) is a political party in India. The CPI considers the December 26, 1925 Cawnpore (Kanpur) conference as its foundation date. Between 1946 and 1951, the CPI led militant struggles such as the peasant revolt in Telangana, organising guerrilla warfare against feudal lords. The CPI was the main opposition party in India during the 1950s to 1960s. Debashree Roy (born 8 August 1962) also known as Debasree Roy, is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, politician and animal rights activist. The film revolves around the life of two 1971 immigrants. It delineates the struggle of a marginalized jobless labourer and his wife, and the adversities they undergo.
