Nepal Mahato
Nepal Mahata (born 26 October 1961) is an Indian politician belonging to Indian National Congress who was a Member of West Bengal Legislative Assembly, West Bengal State Legislative Assembly representing Baghmundi (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Baghmundi constituency (earlier name Jhalda (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Jhalda constituency) since 2001. He is also currently serving as the Working president in the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee, West Bengal state congress Committee. By profession he is a teacher and is currently serving as a secretary in Ichag High School. Personal life and education Nepal Mahato was born in Purulia district, Purulia district of West Bengal to Debendra Nath Mahata and Bhabarani Mahata. Legislative Assembly elections were held in 2016 for 294 seats of the ''Vidhan Sabha'' in the Indian state of West Bengal. The All India Trinamool Congress under Mamata Banerjee won 211 seats, and thus was re-elected with an enhanced majority. Like in the 2011 election, the poll was held in six phases, with the first phase divided into two days. Members of the 16th Lok Sabha were elected during the 2014 Indian general election. The elections were conducted in 9 phases from 7 April 2014 to 12 May 2014 by the Election Commission of India. General elections were held in India in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May 2014 to elect the members of the 16th Lok Sabha. With 834 million registered voters, they were the largest-ever elections in the world until being surpassed by the 2019 Indian general election, 2019 election.
