Neepawa Airport
Neepawa Airport is located west of Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada, immediately north of the Yellowhead Highway. The airport is operated by the town of Neepawa. It is used by owners of light and ultralight aircraft, chiefly for pleasure flying and crop dusting. The airport has also been employed for hanglider training. The property supports several light industrial enterprises. History The present-day airport building was originally the RCAF Station Neepawa, constructed during the Second World War under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP). It was one of many dozens of Canadian airports once used to train pilots and other air crew for the Royal Air Force and other British Commonwealth air forces. The Municipality of North Cypress – Langford is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is located northeast and east of the City of Brandon. The town of Neepawa borders the RM to the north. Canadian Forces Base Shilo is also adjacent to the RM. History The RM was incorporated on January 1, 2015, via the amalgamation of the RMs of Langford and North Cypress. The Royal Canadian Air Cadets () is a Canadian national youth program for young individuals aged 12 to 18. Under the authority of the National Defence Act, ''National Defence Act'', the program is administered by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and funded through the Department of National Defence (Canada), Department of National Defence (DND). Neepawa () is a town in Manitoba, Canada, on the Yellowhead Highway at the intersection with Highway 5. its population was 5,685. Neepawa was incorporated as a town in 1883. Located in western Manitoba, it is bordered by the Municipality of North Cypress – Langford and Rural Municipality of Rosedale. Neepawa is the self-proclaimed lily capital of the world in part because of its Lily Festival. The Lily Festival ran for 18 years beginning in 1996 and ending in 2014.
