Henry Neele
Henry Neele (29 January 1798 – 7 February 1828) was an English poet and literary scholar. He was also a practising attorney in the West End of London. Early life Neele was the son of Samuel John Neele (1758–1824), a cartographer, engraver, and copperplate and printer, who had his business in the Strand, London. The family soon moved to Kentish Town, where he was brought up and educated. He had at least one brother, Josiah Neele (fl. 1826–45), who was to follow in his father's trade. At school and in later life, Neele acquired a good knowledge of French and some German and Italian, but little Latin or Greek. Law On leaving school, Neele was articled to an attorney, and after qualifying, practised in Great Blenheim Street (now Ramillies Street) in the West End of London. Perrot De Neele
Perrot (Peron, Peros, or Pierrot) de Neele (''fl.'' mid–late 13th century) was an Artesian trouvère and ''littérateur''. He composed four '' jeux partis'' in collaboration with Jehan Bretel (died 1272): "Amis Peron de Neele"; "Jehan Bretel, respondés"; "Pierrot de Neele, amis"; and "Pierrot, li ques vaut pis a fin amant". Perrot also composed one song in praise of the Virgin Mary, "Douce vierge, röine nete et pure", with a melody that is in bar form. Finally, there survives in manuscript B.N. fr. 375 a collection of narrative verse (or "classic literary works") entitled ''Sommaires en vers de poèmes'' and compiled by Perrot, who identifies himself in a colophon at the end of the work: ''Ce fist Peros de Neele, qui en trover tos s'escrevele''. Peros de Neele made this, who nearly broke down in tears while writing. This manuscript has sometimes been dated to 1288 because of a colophon to the copy of the ''Roman de Troie'' which it contains. George Potter Neele (12 December 1825 – 4 January 1921), generally referred to as G. P. Neele, was an English railways executive, known for revolutionising the programming of railway timetables on scientific principles. History Neele was born in Kentish Town, and moved with his parents to Walsall in 1838. He began his working life in 1847 on the Eastern Counties Railway, but after two years was appointed chief clerk of the South Staffordshire Railway, which was taken over by the London and North Western Railway The London and North Western Railway (LNWR, L&NWR) was a British railway company between 1846 and 1922. In the late 19th century, the LNWR was the largest joint stock company in the world. Edda Neele
Edda Neele (born 15 December 1910 in Elberfeld, Wuppertal, died 16 February 2005) was a German psychiatrist, and a student and collaborator of Karl Kleist, who worked at the Goethe University Frankfurt Neuropsychiatric Clinic. Along with Karl Leonhard, she was among Kleist's most prolific disciples and contributed significantly to popularizing the terms unipolar (‘einpolig’) and bipolar (‘zweipolig’) that are now used in the concepts of unipolar depression and bipolar disorder, and which had been coined by Kleist. Her 1949 Habilitation dissertation, a study of "cyclical psychoses" admitted to the Frankfurt University Neuropsychiatric Clinic between 1938 and 1942, was the first written publication which used the terms "unipolar disorder" and "bipolar disorder." She was the first woman to write a Habilitation in psychiatry in Germany. She later had a private practice as a psychiatrist in Frankfurt until she retired in 1986, aged 76.
