Necromania
''Necromania'' (sometimes subtitled ''A Tale of Weird Love'') is a pornographic horror film by Ed Wood, released in 1971. It was produced, written, directed and edited entirely by Wood. The screenplay was based on Wood's own novel, ''The Only House''. Plot A young couple, Danny and Shirley Carpenter, drives up to an old mansion in suburban California. They knock first, then enter through the unlocked door. They bicker over the decision to enter unannounced. In a room decorated with occult-related items and containing a coffin, Danny and Shirley are greeted by Tanya. They are there to see necromancer Madame Heles (pronounced "heals") for a solution to Danny's erectile dysfunction. Tanya leads them to a room prepared for their stay. When left alone, the Carpenters resume bickering over their sexual dysfunction. They fail to notice Tanya's eyes watching them through the holes in a painting. Ed Wood
Edward Davis Wood Jr. (October 10, 1924 – December 10, 1978) was an American filmmaker, actor, and pulp novel author. Rudolph Grey
Rudolph Grey is a musician and the biographer of filmmaker Ed Wood. As an electric guitarist, Grey has recorded and performed with Mars, under his own name, as well as leading various ad hoc ensembles called The Blue Humans. His music draws on no wave and free jazz. Grey is also a motion picture historian and has written ''Nightmare of Ecstasy'' (1992), a biography of Ed Wood, the director of notoriously awful cult films. Tim Burton's film ''Ed Wood'' was based on Grey's book. In 2001, Grey rediscovered a copy of Ed Wood's final feature-length film, '' Necromania'', which had been presumed to be lost, in a Los Angeles warehouse. Maila Elizabeth Syrjäniemi (December 11, 1922 – January 10, 2008), known professionally as Maila Nurmi, was an American actress who created the campy 1950s character Vampira. She was raised in Astoria, Oregon, where she worked in tuna and salmon canneries. She relocated to Los Angeles in 1940, with hopes of becoming an actress. After several minor film roles, she found success with her Vampira character, television's first horror host. Nurmi hosted her own series, '' The Vampira Show'', from 1954 to 1955, on KABC-TV.
