Necmettin Cevheri
Necmettin Cevheri (1930 – 5 September 2023) was a Turkish farmer, lawyer, and politician who held various cabinet posts. He was a member of the Democrat Party, Justice Party, and True Path Party. Early life and education Cevheri was born in Şanlıurfa in 1930. He was a member of the Kurdish origin Şeyhanlı tribe. His father, Hacı Ömer, was among those who defended Urfa during the War of Independence and was awarded with the Medal of Independence for his contributions to the battles against the occupying British and French forces in 1920. He was elected as a member of the Parliament for the Democrat Party from Şanlıurfa in 1950 and died in 1952 while serving in the post. Cevheri's mother was Fatma Hanım who died during his childhood. The family had to leave Şanlıurfa in the mid-1930s when the resettlement law was put into force, and they settled in Amasya and then in Adana. Necmettin Erbakan (29 October 1926 – 27 February 2011) was a Turkish politician and political theorist who served as the 23rd prime minister of Turkey from 1996 to 1997. He was pressured by the military to step down as prime minister and was later banned from politics by the Constitutional Court of Turkey for purportedly violating the separation of religion and state as mandated by the constitution. The political ideology and movement founded by Erbakan, Millî Görüş, argues that Turkey can develop with its own power by protecting its religious values and moving forward with faster steps by rivaling the Western countries in favor of closer relations to Muslim countries. Sadık Necmettin Sadak (1890 in Isparta, Ottoman Empire – 21 September 1953 in New York City) was a Turkish politician, former minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and former chairman of the Turkish sports club Galatasaray. Biography After graduating from Galatasaray High School in 1910, he studied humanities in the University of Lyon, France, until 1914. After his return to Turkey, he started to work in fields of sociology. In 1918 he was one of the co-founders of the newspaper ''Akşam''. In 1928 he was elected as member of national parliament from Sivas province . His political success continued and he was elected again for five consecutive times to parliament.
