Ndoto Mountains
The Ndoto Mountains are a mountain range in northern Kenya. Like Mount Nyiru to the north and the Mathews Range to the south, the Ndoto Mountains consist of Precambrian crystalline basement rock, mostly extremely durable gneisses and granites.Rainer W. Kenya

Mount Nyiru
Mount Ng'iro, also known as Mount Nyiru or Mount Nyiro, is a mountain in the north of Kenya overlooking the Suguta Valley, part of the Great Rift Valley, to the west. The mountain is surrounded by desert, but is forested on its upper slopes. It lies in the territory of the Samburu people. Some subclans under the Lmasula phratry cultivate bees on the mountain, and as bee-keepers claim exclusive rights to the land and water. There are 78.9 square kilometres of montane forest on the mountain. African juniper ('' Juniperus procera'') is the predominant tree at lower elevations and in drier areas, growing in pure stands or with ''Myrsine africana''. Mathews Range
The Matthews (or Mathews) Range, also known as the Lenkiyio Hills, is a range of mountains in Kenya. Geography The range is about 150 km long, oriented north–south. It is located in the Laikipia district of the Rift Valley Province in northern Kenya. The town of Wamba lies at the southeastern edge of the range.Rough Guide Map to Kenya Peaks The highest point is Warges, at above sea level, a peak located the southern end of the range, separated by a valley from the rest of the range. Gneiss
Gneiss (pronounced ) is a common and widely distributed type of metamorphic rock. It is formed by high-temperature and high-pressure metamorphic processes acting on formations composed of igneous or sedimentary rocks. This rock is formed under pressures ranging from 2 to 15 kbar, sometimes even more, and temperatures over 300 °C (572 °F). Granite
Granite ( ) is a coarse-grained (phanerite, phaneritic) intrusive rock, intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. East African Montane Forests
The East African montane forests is a montane tropical moist forest ecoregion of eastern Africa. The ecoregion comprises several separate areas above 2000 meters in the mountains of South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Geography The East African montane forests extend across a total of , in 25 separate enclaves, which range in size from 23,700 to 113 square kilometers. The montane forests extend down to approximately 1000 meters elevation, and as high as 3500 meters. Great Rift Valley
The Great Rift Valley () is a series of contiguous geographic depressions, approximately 6,000 or in total length, the definition varying between sources, that runs from the southern Turkish Hatay Province in Asia, through the Red Sea, to Mozambique in Southeast Africa.
