Nayan Sarkar (born 1988) is an Indian politician from Tripura. He is a member of Communist Party of India (Marxist). He won as a Member of the Tripura Legislative Assembly from the Bamutia Assembly constituency, which is reserved for scheduled Caste community, in the 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly election. Early life and education Sarkar is from Mohanpur, Bamutia, West Tripura district. HIs late father Haricharan Sarkar was a farmer. He completed his M.A. in Education in 2020 under ICFAI University. His net worth as declared in the affidavit submitted to Election Commission of India is Rs. 7.8 lakhs. He has no criminal cases against him. 2023 Tripura Legislative Assembly elections were held on 2023 elections in India, 16 February 2023 to elect all List of constituencies of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, 60 members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. The Communist Party of India (CPI) is a political party in India. The CPI considers the December 26, 1925 Cawnpore (Kanpur) conference as its foundation date. Between 1946 and 1951, the CPI led militant struggles such as the peasant revolt in Telangana, organising guerrilla warfare against feudal lords. The CPI was the main opposition party in India during the 1950s to 1960s.
