Scouting America is the largest scouting organization and one of the largest List of youth organizations, youth organizations in the United States, with over 1 million youth, including nearly 200,000 female participants. Venturing (Boy Scouts Of America)
Venturing is a core program of Scouting America for coeducational teenagers and young adults ages 14 (or 13 and graduated the eighth grade) through 20. It is one of Scouting America's three programs for older youth, the others being Sea Scouts and Exploring. The purpose of Venturing is to provide a positive environment where youth members, called Venturers, can experience adventure, leadership, personal growth, and service. History While the Venturing program is relatively new, older youth Scouting has a long history within Scouting America. The program got its start in the 1930s as the "Senior Scout" Division for boys 15 and older. In 1949 the Senior Scout Division became the Explorer Division. Sea Scouts became Sea Explorers, Air Scouts became Air Explorers, and Explorer Scouts simply Explorers. Kate Knuth
Kate Knuth (born May 15, 1981) is an American politician who served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 50B from 2007 to 2013. She was a Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party candidate for mayor of Minneapolis in the city's 2021 election. Early life and education Katherine "Kate" Knuth was born on May 15, 1981, to parents Daniel Knuth and Joann Knuth. As an undergraduate at the University of Chicago, Knuth studied biology and philosophy. She worked at the Field Museum of Natural History and served as National President of the coed Venturing program of the Boy Scouts of America.
