National Unity (Israel)
The National Unity or State Camp ( he, המחנה הממלכתי, HaMahane HaMamlakhti) is an Israeli political alliance made up of former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz's Israel Resilience Party and Gideon Sa'ar's New Hope party, as well as former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot. The alliance was created to participate in the 2022 Israeli legislative election. Since 12 October 2023, it has been part of the Thirty-seventh government of Israel, led by Benjamin Netanyahu. History Gantz and Sa'ar announced an alliance between their two parties on 10 July, which was initially called Blue and White The New Hope. The alliance was joined by former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot and former Yamina MK Matan Kahana on 14 August, at which point it was renamed the National Unity Party. Israel Resilience Party
The Israel Resilience Party ( he, חוסן לישראל, Hosen LeYisrael, Resilience for Israel), is a liberal political party in Israel founded in December 2018 by Benny Gantz, former Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. The party first ran in the April 2019 Knesset elections, as part of the Blue and White alliance. History On 16 February 2015, Gantz completed his term as Chief of the General Staff and entered a three-year legal cooling-off period in which he could not run for the Knesset. This ended on 2 July 2018. Subsequently, in September 2018, it was reported that Gantz planned to enter politics. Benjamin Netanyahu
Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu (; ; born 21 October 1949) is an Israeli politician who served as the ninth prime minister of Israel from 1996 to 1999 and again from 2009 to 2021. Yifat Shasha-Biton (, born 23 May 1973) is an Israeli educator and politician. She was appointed Minister of Education in June 2021. She was elected to the twenty-fourth Knesset on the New Hope list, after serving as an MK for Kulanu and Likud. She held the post of Minister of Construction and Housing from 2019 to 2020. Biography Yifat Shasha-Biton was born in Kiryat Shmona in 1973 to Rachel, a nurse born in Morocco and Moshe David, the owner of a transportation company born in Iraq. She attended the Darca Danciger high school in Kiryat Shmona. In 2002 she received her doctorate in education from the University of Haifa, having already obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in education at the same university. Yehiel Moshe "Hili" Tropper ( he, יְחִיאֵל מֹשֶׁה "חִילִי" טְרוֹפֵּר; born 22 April 1978) is an Israeli educator, social worker and politician. He is currently a member of the Knesset for National Unity and served as Minister of Culture and Sports from 2020 to 2022. Biography Tropper was born in Jerusalem, one of nine children of Rabbi Daniel Tropper. During his national service in the Israel Defense Forces, he was part of the Duvdevan Unit. He subsequently became a social worker and earned a BA in humanities from the Open University and an MA in Jewish history and education from the Lander Institute. He worked for the Bat Yam municipality and also ran the Branco Weiss school in Ramle. Tropper is married with four children and lives in Nes Harim. Shirly Pinto ( he, שירלי פינטו; born 15 March 1989) is an Israeli Deaf social-political activist, who served as Member of Knesset for National Unity. Pinto is fluent in Israeli Sign Language as well as Hebrew, and is one of the founders of . Biography Pinto was born to Deaf parents, and raised in the Krayot. Yamina or Yemina (; ) is an Israeli political alliance of right-wing parties that originally included the New Right and the Union of Right-Wing Parties (a union of The Jewish Home and Tkuma). The current incarnation of the alliance includes only the New Right, as The Jewish Home left the alliance on 14 July 2020, and the Religious Zionist Party left on 20 January 2021.
