National Underclassmen Combine
The National Underclassmen Combine/NUC Sports is a professional, privately owned recruiting program and three-day training and assessment function for high school football players to display their skills and potential. It is one of the largest and most successful programs of its kind, the purpose of which is to connect talented football athletes with collegiate programs willing to offer them a scholarship. Notable players to go through the system include Joe Haden, cornerback for the NFL's Cleveland Browns, and Marcus Lattimore, star running back for the University of South Carolina. Founded by former University of Connecticut linebacker David Schuman, the first combine event was held in New Jersey in 2005. David Schuman (football Analyst)
David Schuman is the founder and president of Schuman Enterprises, a national high school football camp series. Schuman runs the largest high school football combine and recruitment showcase in the country, '' The National Underclassmen Combine'', and has trained over 30,000 athletes in the US. Formerly, he was the head football coach for the co-operative Palisades Park High School / Leonia High School football team. The 40-yard dash is a sprint covering . It is primarily run to evaluate the speed and acceleration of American football players by scouts, particularly for the NFL Draft but also for collegiate recruiting. A player's recorded time can have a heavy impact on his prospects in college or professional football. This was traditionally only true for the "skill" positions such as running back, wide receiver, and defensive back, although now a fast 40-yard dash time is considered important for almost every position. The 40-yard dash is not an official race in track and field athletics, and is not an IAAF-recognized race. James Hurst (American Football)
James Hurst (born December 17, 1991) is an American football offensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He played college football at North Carolina. High school career A former standout at Plainfield High School, Hurst was named to the 2009 ''USA Today'' All-American team, and played in the Under Armour All-America Game. College career Freshman As a freshman, Hurst earned freshman All-American honors by Rivals.com, Phil Steele, and The Sporting News. Justin Parker Hunter (born May 20, 1991) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Tennessee. Hunter was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Terry Hawthorne (born January 1, 1990) is a Cornerbacks coach for Southern Illinois University. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 17th pick in the fifth round of the NFL's 2013 Draft. Hawthorne was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 31, 2013. Raymond E. Graham (born September 18, 1990) is an American football running back. He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Early years Graham attended Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was a first team All-Union County, and was Union County Player of the Year after he rushed for 1,592 yards and averaged nine yards per carry, scoring 24 touchdowns to lead Union County with 144 points. He saw limited time as a junior due to a preseason collarbone injury but returned late in the year and rushed for 750 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in Elizabeth's final four games. Rex Burkhead (born July 2, 1990) is an American football running back for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). Tajh Khiry Boyd (born September 25, 1990) is an American football coach and former quarterback who currently is an offensive assistant at Clemson.
