National Statistics Office (Dominican Republic)
The National Statistics Office (; ONE) of the Dominican Republic is the government institution in charge of collecting, reviewing, preparing and publishing national statistics on the economy, agricultural production, commerce, industry, finance, environment, society and demography. It also has the task of carrying out the national population and housing censuses. It is part of the Ministry of Economy. The first national census was conducted in 1920. The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (Spanish: ''Ministerio de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo'' or ''MEPyD'') of the Dominican Republic is a government institution which coordinates the country's macroeconomic politics and sustainable development. It regulates the National System for Development and Public Investment, controls the statistics programs, evaluates the impact of economic actions, establishes the international cooperation politics, among other roles. It was created on 2006 as the ''Secretaría de Estado de Economía, Planificación y Desarrollo''. Its headquarters are located at Santo Domingo. 2022 Dominican Republic Census
The 2022 Dominican Republic census is the tenth Dominican Republic national census, and was held from the 10 to 23 of November 2022, during the presidency of Luis Abinader. It was originally scheduled to conclude in 23 November, but, it was extended to the end of month due to work delays. The population of the Dominican Republic was counted as 10,760,028 – an increase of 1,314,747 (13.9%) over the 2010 census. First results from the 2022 census were released to the public on 10 August 2023, from the Oficina Nacional de Estadística website.
