Statistics Korea (KOSTAT; ) is a government organization responsible for managing national statistics in South Korea. KOSTAT is headquartered in Daejeon, South Korea and operates under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Statistics Korea generates population and household census yearly (every 5 years until 2015). It also gathers analytic and administrative statistics. Daejeon
Daejeon (; ) is South Korea's list of cities in South Korea, fifth-largest metropolis, with a population of nearly 1.5 million. Located in a central lowland valley between the Sobaek Mountains and the Geum River, the city is known both as a technology and research center, and for its close relationship with the natural environment. Daejeon serves as a hub of transportation for major rail and road routes, and is approximately 50 minutes from the capital, Seoul, by Korea Train Express, KTX or Suseo high-speed railway, SRT high speed rail. Ministry Of Economy And Finance (South Korea)
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF; ) oversees the financial policies of the South Korean government. It publishes a monthly report on the national economy, known as the "Green Book." The current minister is Choi San-mok. The headquarters is in the Sejong Government Complex in Sejong City. According to Chapter 3 Article 19 of the Government Organisation Act, the Minister of Economy and Finance also acts as the Deputy Prime Minister, together with the Minister for Education. MOEF has enforcement functions as well. It oversees the National Tax Tribunal and the Financial Intelligence Unit. United Nations Statistics Division
The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), formerly the United Nations Statistical Office, serves under the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) as the central mechanism within the Secretariat of the United Nations to supply the statistical needs and coordinating activities of the global statistical system. The Division is overseen by the United Nations Statistical Commission, established in 1947, as the apex entity of the global statistical system and highest decision making body for coordinating international statistical activities.
