National Democratic Party of Germany (, NPD), officially called The Homeland () since 2023, is a Far-right politics, far-right, Neo-Nazism, neo-Nazi and Ultranationalism, ultranationalist political party in Germany. It was founded in 1964 as successor to the Deutsche Reichspartei, German Reich Party (, DRP). Party statements also self-identified the party as Germany's "only significant patriotic force" (2012). The National Democratic Party (NDP) was an Irish nationalist political party in Northern Ireland. Origins The organisation's origins lay in National Unity, a political study group founded in 1959. The National Democrats () was a political party in Norway, which was founded in January 1990. The party was led by Hege Søfteland, who had been excluded from Stop Immigration. The party's main issue was to stop what it called the "mass immigration to Norway." It also wanted to stop foreign aid and replace it with a "disaster fund", and was against Norway joining the European Economic Community. By August 1991, the party had 460 registered members. The Norwegian Patriots (, NP) was a short-lived political party in Norway led by Øyvind Heian whose sole aim was to stop non-western immigration to Norway. The party ran for election limited to the county of Vestfold in the 2009 parliamentary election, where it received a mere 184 votes. The disappointing result lead to the party being "put on ice", and on 23 September it was announced that the party was dissolved. Activities In June 2009, Stop Islamisation of Norway (SIAN) was joined by Heian for a rally against Islam in Oslo. The rally was ended before it had started, as the group came in a violent clash with left-wing activists. The police claimed that the left-wing activists were the active part of the clash. National Democracy (, often abbreviated as ND or known as ''Endecja''; ) was a Polish political movement that operated from the second half of the 19th century, during the partitions of Poland, until the end of the Second Polish Republic. It effectively ceased to exist following the Germano–Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939. Throughout its history, National Democracy underwent several phases of development. The National Democrats (ND) was a British nationalist party in the United Kingdom (UK). The former party chairman, Ian Anderson, died on 2 February 2011, and the party was de-registered with the Electoral Commission on 10 March 2011. Formation The party evolved out of the Flag Group wing of the British National Front (NF), which gained control of the NF during the early 1990s. Party leader Ian Anderson sought to change the name of the NF to the National Democrats. 72% of the membership voted for the change in a postal ballot; by changing the name it was hoped to avoid the connotations associated with the NF name.
