National Democratic Action (Ecuador)
The National Democratic Action (ADN, es, Acción Democrática Nacional) is a political alliance and movement in Ecuador created to support the candidacy of Daniel Noboa in the 2023 presidential election. History Daniel Noboa announced his presidential candidacy in May 2023 following the Ecuadorian political crisis. He received the support of the People, Equality and Democracy (PID) and MOVER parties, which became members of the ADN. In the following months, Noboa organized this movement, which for a long time did not receive legal status. Noboa's running mate is conservative entrepreneur Verónica Abad Rojas, from Cuenca. Daniel Noboa
Daniel Roy Gilchrist Noboa Azín ( ; ; born 30 November 1987) is an Ecuadorian politician and businessman currently serving as the 48th president of Ecuador since 23 November 2023. Taking office at the age of 35, he is the second-youngest president in the country's history, after Juan José Flores, and the youngest to be elected. Noboa was a member of the National Assembly of Ecuador from 2021 until 2023 when the National Assembly was dissolved following the ''muerte cruzada'' constitutional mechanism invoked by President Guillermo Lasso. Before his political career, Noboa served in several positions at Noboa Corporation, an exporting business founded by his father Álvaro Noboa, a billionaire who unsuccessfully ran for president of Ecuador five times. The National Assembly ( es, Asamblea Nacional) is the unicameral legislature of Ecuador. It replaced the National Congress in 2009 following reforms under the 2008 Constitution. The current President of the Assembly is Virgilio Saquicela since 31 May 2022. Valentina Centeno Arteaga (born 14 February 1997) is an Ecuadorian lawyer and politician who was elected to Ecuador's National Assembly in 2023. Lenín Voltaire Moreno Garcés (; born 19 March 1953) is an Ecuadorian politician who served as the 46th president of Ecuador, from 2017 to 2021. Moreno was vice president from 2007 to 2013, serving under President Rafael Correa. He was nominated as the candidate for Correa's PAIS Alliance, a social democratic political party, in the 2017 presidential election and won a narrow victory in Ecuador's second round of voting on 2 April 2017. However, after his election Moreno drastically shifted his political stance, distancing himself from Correa's leftist legacy in both domestic and foreign policy. Verónica Abad Rojas (born 14 November 1976) is an Ecuadorian business coach and politician who is the vice president of Ecuador following the second round of the 2023 general election. She was also an unsuccessful candidate for mayor of Cuenca in 2023 and previously worked on international projects to support entrepreneurship for young people and women.
