Nation Media Group (NMG), formerly known as East African Newspapers (Nation Series) Ltd, is an East African media group based in Kenya and listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange. It is owned by Aga Khan IV. History NMG was founded in 1959 by Aga Khan IV as East African Newspapers (Nation Series) Ltd, under the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development. In 1999, NMG launched NTV, a news channel in Kenya, and Easy FM (now known as Nation FM). Media outlets As of 2007 the group was the largest private media house in East and Central Africa, with offices in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. National Social Security Fund (Kenya)
The National Social Security Fund is a Kenyan government agency responsible for the collection, safekeeping, responsible investment and distribution of retirement funds of employees in both the formal and informal sectors of the Kenyan Economy. Participation for both employers and employees is compulsory. The fund is both a pension fund and provident fund. History The National Social Security Fund was established in 1965 through the Act of Parliament Cap 258 of the Laws of Kenya. Uganda Securities Exchange
The Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) is the principal stock exchange of Uganda. It was founded in June 1997. The USE is operated under the jurisdiction of Uganda's Capital Markets Authority, which in turn reports to the Bank of Uganda, Uganda's central bank. The exchange opened to trading in January 1998. At that time, the exchange had just one listing, a bond issued by the East African Development Bank. Trading was limited to only a handful of trades per week. As of July 2014, the USE traded 16 listed local and East African companies and had started the trading of fixed income instruments. NTV Uganda
NTV Uganda is a Ugandan television station under the Nation Media Group (NMG), operating in East Africa. It has been on air since 2006. It is one of the companies owned by Aga Khan IV. During the Arua elections, NTV Uganda reporter Herbert Zziwa and cameraman Ronald Muwanga were arrested for allegedly inciting violence.
