Biography Gasimov Natig Salim oglu was born on January 2, 1971, in the village of Kichic Garamurad of Gedebay district. In 1975, he moved to Mingachevir with his family. After graduating from eight-year school, he studied at a vocational school specializing in welding. After completing his duty in the Internal Troops in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia, he returned to Azerbaijan in 1991 and went to the front as a volunteer in the same year. The First Nagorno-Karabakh War was an ethnic conflict, ethnic and territorial conflict that took place from February 1988 to May 1994, in the enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh in southwestern Azerbaijan, between the majority ethnic Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh backed by Armenia, and the Republic of Azerbaijan with support from Turkey. Gold Star Medal (Azerbaijan)
The Qizil Ulduz Medal (Gold Star) () is an award that honors a National Hero of Azerbaijan. The award was established by Abulfaz Elchibey (the former President of Azerbaijan) on March 25, 1992 (by Decree No. 201). This award is conferred for bravery and courage shown in defense of the sovereignty, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and for the protection of its civil population. History Original form The medal was initially in the form of a gold-filled crescent facing to the right that enclosed an eight-pointed star with flat dihedral rays on the front face. The rear side of the medal has a flat surface and is bound with a thin fillet going along the cutout. An inscription with the letters "National Hero of Azerbaijan" is located on the rear side. Gadabay District
Gadabay District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Gazakh-Tovuz Economic Region. Khojaly District
Khojaly District () is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country in the Karabakh Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Kalbajar, Lachin, Shusha, Agdam and Khojavend. Its capital and largest city is Khojaly. As of 2020, the district had a nominal population of 28,800. The centre of the district, the town of Khojaly, was also the site of the Khojaly Massacre, the largest massacre throughout the whole Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The National Hero of Azerbaijan () is the highest national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law on 15 July 1992.
