Nathan Woodthorpe
Nathan John Edward Woodthorpe (born 6 December 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Chester. He is the son of former footballer Colin Woodthorpe. Career A graduate of Crewe Alexandra's Academy, he signed a professional contract in 2020. In August 2021, Woodthorpe joined Witton Albion on an initial month-long loan, which was extended for a second month. He scored on his debut for the club in their 1-1 draw against Gainsborough Trinity. Upon returning to Crewe, he made his Crewe debut on 9 November 2021 in an EFL Trophy group game against Wolves Under-21s at Gresty Road, but after his second appearance, against Doncaster Rovers on 1 December 2021 in the same competition, suffered an ankle injury. Crewe
Crewe () is a railway town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. The Crewe built-up area had a total population of 75,556 in 2011, which also covers parts of the adjacent civil parishes of Willaston, Shavington cum Gresty and Wistaston. The 2011 Helmand Province killing was the manslaughter of a wounded Taliban insurgent by Alexander Blackman, which occurred on 15 September 2011. Three Royal Marines, known during their trial as Marines A, B, and C, were anonymously tried by court martial. On 8 November 2013, Marines B and C were acquitted, but Blackman (Marine A) was initially found guilty of murder of the Afghan insurgent, in contravention of section 42 of the Armed Forces Act 2006. This made him the first British soldier to be convicted of a battlefield murder whilst serving abroad since the Second World War. On 6 December 2013, Blackman was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of ten years, and dismissed with disgrace from the Royal Marines. On 22 May 2014, the Courts Martial Appeal Court reduced his minimum term to eight years. The National League North, formerly Conference North, is a division of the National League in England, immediately below the National League division.
