Nathan Brown (poet)
Nathan Brown is an author, singer-songwriter, and award-winning poet who served as the Oklahoma Poet Laureate from 2013 to 2014. Life Nathan Brown was born in Longview, Texas on March 16, 1965. His family moved to Norman, Oklahoma in January 1970, where he grew up and went to college. He was a professional musician in Nashville, Tennessee in his 20s and 30s. He now hails from Wimberley, Texas, Wimberley, a small town in the Hill Country of Texas where he has lived with his wife, Ashley, since 2013. Nathan holds an interdisciplinary PhD in English and Journalism with an emphasis in Creative and Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma. After teaching at OU for almost twenty years, he returned to the Austin area to be closer to the music scene there and tours the country full-time as a poet, musician, and workshop leader. Nathan Brown (missionary)
Nathan Brown (; 22 June 1807 – 1 January 1886) was an American Baptist missionary to India and Japan, Bible translator, and abolitionist. He is noted for his works on Assamese language, grammar and script. In around 1843, based in Sibsagar, he began translating the New Testament into Assamese under the title ''Amar Trankôrta Yisu Khristôr Nôtun Niyôm'' () which he published in 1848. In 1854, he published another book titled meaning roughly ''Jesus Christ and his Holy Messages''. He also translated prayers alongside his other missionary colleagues. His work ''Grammatical Notices of the Assamese Language'' was published by the American Baptist Mission Press in 1848. In 1846, with his colleague Oliver Cutter, he published '' Orunodoi'' (), the first Assamese periodical. Nathan Brown (born 31 July 1973) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach who is the assistant coach of the Parramatta Eels in the NRL and former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played as a for the St. George Dragons and St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League, also coaching the latter. He then spent time in the Super League coaching the Huddersfield Giants and St Helens, with whom he won the 2014 Super League Grand Final, before returning to Australia to coach the Newcastle Knights in the NRL. Nathan Clifford Brown (October 13, 1856 – March 20, 1941) was an American ornithologist who was one of the co-founders of the American Ornithologists' Union. Biography Nathan Clifford Brown was born in Portland, Maine on October 13, 1856. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Associate Supreme Court Justice Nathan Clifford, who had also been a U.S. Representative for Maine, an ambassador to Mexico and an attorney general for Democratic President James K. The Paymaster-General of the United States Army was a general officer who was responsible for the Pay Department of the United States Army, U.S. Army. History The office of the Paymaster General was created through a resolution of the Continental Congress on 16 June 1775, which established "That there be one Paymaster General, and a Deputy under him, for the Army, in a separate department; that the pay for the Paymaster General himself be one hundred dollars per month, and for the Deputy Paymaster under him, fifty dollars per month."
