Stillwell Avenue is a major two-way north–south thoroughfare in southern Brooklyn and the central section of Coney Island. It is long and begins at a dead end at Riegelmann Boardwalk on Coney Island. The road goes north, leaving Coney Island, ending at Bay Parkway (Brooklyn), Bay Parkway, where the road continues as the Bay Ridge Parkway (former New York State Route 439, Route 439). On December 11, 2008, it acquired the subsidiary name Polar Bear Club Walk, named for the Coney Island Polar Bear Club. James Francis Durante ( , ; February 10, 1893 – January 29, 1980) was an American comedian, actor, singer, and pianist. His distinctive gravelly speech, Lower East Side New York accent, accent, comic language-butchery, jazz-influenced songs, and prominent nose helped make him one of the United States' most familiar and popular personalities of the 1920s through the 1970s. He often referred to his nose as ''the schnozzola'' (Italianization of the American Yiddish slang word ''schnoz'', meaning "big nose"), and the word became his nickname. Eddie Cantor (born Isidore Itzkowitz; January 31, 1892 – October 10, 1964) was an American comedian, actor, dancer, singer, songwriter, film producer, screenwriter and author. Cantor was one of the prominent entertainers of his era. Some of his hits include " Makin' Whoopee", "Ida (Sweet as Apple Cider)", " If You Knew Susie", " Ma!
