Natallia Varakina
Natallia Varakina (, born 20 June 2001) is a Belarusian freestyle wrestler who competes in the 50 kg weight class. She won the bronze medal at the 2025 European Wrestling Championships and has represented Belarus at junior and senior international events. Career Varakina began competing at the international level in her teens, participating in cadet and junior tournaments across Europe. She trains at the National Wrestling Centre in Minsk and represents Belarus in the 57 kg weight category. In April 2025, Varakina earned the bronze medal at the European Wrestling Championships held in Bratislava. Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling. It is one of two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games, along with Greco-Roman wrestling, Greco-Roman. scholastic wrestling, High school wrestling and men's collegiate wrestling in the United States are conducted under different rules and termed scholastic wrestling, scholastic and collegiate wrestling. United World Wrestling (UWW) is the international governing body for the sport of Wrestling; its duties include overseeing wrestling at the World Championships and Olympics. European Wrestling Championships
The European Wrestling Championships is the second oldest international wrestling competition of the modern world and the main wrestling championships in Europe. It predates World Wrestling Championships and other regional wrestling championships and is second only to the Wrestling at the Summer Olympics, wrestling events at the Olympics. From its inception in 1898 till 1927 only Greco-Roman wrestling was contested. Since 1929 in sports, 1929 separate freestyle wrestling events were held as well. 2025 European Wrestling Championships
The 2025 European Wrestling Championships was held from 7 to 13 April 2025 in Bratislava, Slovakia. At the 2025 European Championships, in accordance with sanctions imposed following by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, wrestlers from Russia and Belarus were not permitted to use the name, flag, or anthem of Russia or Belarus. They instead participated as "United World Wrestling (UWW)", their medals were not included in the official medal table. Two gold medals were awarded in the Men's Greco-Roman 72 kg category because the referee overseeing the result made a mistake. The bout originally ended in victory for the Hungarian. Authorised Neutral Athlete (ANA) and Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) are a capacity under which athletes can compete at international sporting competitions without representing their nations, as is standard convention under the Olympic Charter.
