Natalia Mendez (born January 28, 1997) is a Bolivian people, Bolivian-born Argentine racquetball player. She is the current Racquetball at the 2018 South American Games, South American Champion in Women's Doubles and the current Pan American Racquetball Championships, Pan American Champion in Women's Doubles, winning that title with Valeria Centellas. Racquetball
Racquetball is a racquet sport and a team sport played with a hollow rubber ball on an indoor or outdoor court. Joseph Sobek invented the modern sport of racquetball in 1950, adding a stringed racquet to paddleball in order to increase velocity and control. Unlike most racquet sports, such as tennis and badminton, there is no net to hit the ball over, and, unlike squash, no tin (out of bounds area at the bottom of front wall) to hit the ball above. Also, the court's walls, floor, and ceiling are legal playing surfaces, with the exception of court-specific designated hinders being out-of-bounds. Racquetball is played between various players on a team who try to bounce the ball with the racquet onto the ground so it hits the wall, so that an opposing team’s player cannot bounce it back to the wall. Racquetball At The 2018 South American Games
Racquetball (Spanish: ''Ráquetbol''), for the 2018 South American Games was held from 27 May to 3 June 2018 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Tournament format The 2018 South American Games racquetball competition has two parts. The individual competitions in Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles, and a Team competition. The individual competitions will be held first beginning on May 27 and concluding on June 1. Three of the individual competitions will have a group stage followed by an elimination stage to determine the medalists. South American Games
The South American Games (also known as ODESUR Games; Spanish: ''Juegos Suramericanos''; Portuguese: ''Jogos Sul-Americanos''), formerly the Southern Cross Games (Spanish: ''Juegos Cruz del Sur'') is a regional multi-sport event held between nations from South America, organized by the ODESUR (acronym for "Organización Deportiva Suramericana" – ''South American Sports Organization''. 2019 Pan American Racquetball Championships
The 2019 Pan American Racquetball Championships took place in Barranquilla, Colombia from April 12–20 at the Parque de Racquetas La Castellana, which was used for the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games. Bolivia won both Men's Singles and Doubles for the 1st time in tournament history, while Mexico won both Women's Singles and Doubles for the 5th time. Carlos Keller of Bolivia successfully defended the gold medal he won in 2018 by defeating the USA's Charlie Pratt in the Men's Singles final, and Keller's brother Roland won gold in Men's Doubles with Conrrado Moscoso, as they defeated Canadians Coby Iwaasa and Samuel Murray in the final. 2022 Pan American Racquetball Championships
The 2022 Pan American Championships were held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, April 9-16. Bolivian Angélica Barrios won Women's Singles and fellow Bolivian Conrrado Moscoso won Men's Singles, and both Barrios and Moscoso won for the first time. Barrios's victory was the first for a Bolivian woman at Pan Am Championships, while Moscoso's win was the third consecutive Bolivian gold in Men's Singles, as Carlos Keller won the previous two events. In doubles, Canadians Coby Iwaasa and Samuel Murray won Men's Doubles, which was the 4th Canadian win in the event, but the first for both Iwaasa and Murray. 2023 Pan American Racquetball Championships
The 2023 Pan American Championships were held in Guatemala City, Guatemala, April 1–8. Bolivian Conrrado Moscoso won Men's Singles for the second consecutive year, and Montserrat Mejia won Women's Singles for the first time. Moscoso's win was the fourth consecutive Bolivian gold in Men's Singles, as Carlos Keller won the two events prior to Moscoso. Mejia is the second Mexican woman to win Women's Singles after Paola Longoria.
