Nat Geo People (short for National Geographic People) is an international pay television channel owned by National Geographic Partners, a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company (73%) and the National Geographic Society (27%). Targeted at female audiences, with programming focusing on people and cultures, the channel is available in 50 countries in both linear and non-linear formats. History The channel was launched as Adventure One Channel on 1 November 1999, rebranded on 2003 as Adventure One (A1) and was later rebranded on 1 May 2007 as National Geographic Adventure, strengthening the overall Nat Geo presence. ''Bondi Rescue'' is an Australian factual television program which is broadcast on Network 10. The program follows the daily lives and routines of the Waverley Council professional lifeguards who patrol Bondi Beach. ''Bondi Rescue'' was first broadcast in 2006. A spin-off, set in Bali, Indonesia, also screened in 2008. ''Bondi Rescue'' is broadcast internationally and has a substantial online presence. The show was created and produced by part-time lifeguard Ben Davies in collaboration with Producer Michael Cordell. It is narrated by Osher Günsberg. ''Around the World for Free'' a.k.a. ''ATWFF'' was an online/broadcast hybrid reality television series based on the concept of whether a person can circle the globe without any money. The show followed a reality star, as he or she attempted to travel around the world without any money on hand. The star travelled with one cameraman Zsolt Luka and relied on local guides and inhabitants for basic needs. The concept was created by Alex Boylan, Emmy-nominated editor and director Zsolt Luka, and Burton Roberts, who was also the producer of Camp Reality and was a cast member on '' Survivor: Pearl Islands''.
