Nasinu F.C.
Nasinu F.C. is a Fijian football team playing in the first division of the Fiji Football Association competitions. It is based in Nasinu, which is situated on the eastern side of the main island of Viti Levu, between the town of Nausori and the city of Suva. Their home stadium is Rishikul College Grounds. Their uniform is blue shirt, maroon shorts and blue socks. The club lost to Savusavu F.C in promotion and relegation 2010. History Nasinu F.A. was founded in 1976, with the formation of the Nasinu Football Association, to cater for the expanding population of the Nasinu area. Its first president was Subhas Maharaj. The team began its debut in the second division but soon moved up to the first division, where it has performed credibly. The Fiji Football Association is the governing body of football in Fiji. It came into existence in 1961. It is the overseeing body of the Fiji National Team and its leagues. History Football started to be played in Fiji ever since the arrival of Europeans in Fiji and establishment of towns like Levuka where significant numbers of sports enthusiasts could congregate and socialise with a friendly game. Missionaries, who established schools in Fiji, introduced football as part of the school program and football was being played in schools as early as 1889. Inter-District Championship
The Inter-District Championship (IDC) is the amateur Fijian football cup. Only five teams (Suva, Rewa, Ba, Levuka and Lautoka) first took part in the first IDC held in Suva in 1938. From 1938 to 1975, the competition was initially held on a knock out format but in 1976 pool play was introduced. From 1985, the competition was held in two divisions with the introduction of a second level tournament known as the Premier Division. In 1999 there was a short lived third level division. With Navua registering its first ever win of the IDC tournament in 2009, all the current (as of January 2010) Super Premium Division teams have now won the Lloyd Farebrother Trophy one or more time(s). Nausori () is a town in Fiji. It had a population of 57,866 at the 2017 census. This makes it the fourth most populous municipality in the country. Situated 19 kilometers outside of Suva, it forms one pole of the burgeoning Suva-Nausori corridor. Nausori is home to three provinces Rewa, Tailevu and Naitasiri.
