Halicharan Narzary
Halicharan Narzary (Bodo हलिचरन नार्जारी born 10 May 1994) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Indian Super League club Bengaluru. Club career Youth career Narzary first started playing football in his village of Kokrajhar, Assam, where he represented his school team. After impressing in the school leagues, he was called to attend a trial at a SAI hostel nearby. Having made the cut there, he went on to represent Assam at the U-16 National Championships in Mahilpur. His talent was spotted by scouts at the tournament and he earned a call up to the India U16 squad, from where he graduated to the India U19 team. Kanakeswar Narzary
Kanakeswar Narzary (2 January 1943 – 12 October 2003) was an Indian politician and the founder General Secretary of All Bodo Students' Union. He was born on 2 January 1943 at Tengaigaon (Gwmwbil) village under Serfanguri police station of Kokrajhar district in Assam. He was the son of Narayan Narzary and Dwislung Narzary. He died on 12 October 2003 at a private nursing home in Kolkata. His early education started at Gosainichina village. After passing the final examination of MV School from there, he studied at Sapatgram Amalgamated Academy and passed his matriculation examination in 1964. He passed his P.U examination in 1965 and BA in Political science with honours from Kokrajhar College in 1968. Since his school days, Kanakeswar Narzary was an active member of student organization. Boro People
Boro (बर'/बड़ो ), also called Bodo, is the largest ethnolinguistic group in the Assam state of India. They are a part of the greater Bodo-Kachari family of ethnolinguistic groups and are spread across northeastern India. They are concentrated mainly in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, though Boros inhabit all other districts of Assam and Meghalaya. Boros are officially listed as "Boro, Borokachari" scheduled tribe under the Constitution of India. Boros speak the Boro language, a Boro-Garo language of the Tibeto-Burman family, which is recognised as one of twenty-two Scheduled languages of India. Over two-thirds of the people are bilingual, speaking Assamese as second language.
