Daniell Peninsula () is the large peninsula between Cape Daniell and Cape Jones on the coast of Victoria Land. It is partly separated from the Victory Mountains by Whitehall Glacier, which is afloat in its lower reaches, but is joined to these mountains by the higher land in the vicinity of Mount Prior. It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition, 1957–58, after Cape Daniell, and by analogy with the Adare Peninsula, Adare and Hallett Peninsula, Hallett peninsulas. Geology The peninsula is an elongated basalt dome similar to the Adare and Hallett peninsulas. It consists of at least four overlapping shield volcanoes that form part of the Hallett Volcanic Province of the McMurdo Volcanic Group. Narrow Neck is a suburb located on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. It is under the local governance of the Auckland Council. Until the mid-19th century, Devonport was connected with the rest of the North Shore by a causeway between Ngataringa Bay and the Hauraki Gulf. This causeway gave the appearance of a "narrow neck". On the eastern side of this strip of land is the Narrow Neck beach, on the western side there was an extensive mangrove swamp. In the late 19th century the majority of this mangrove swamp was drained and filled in creating land used as a racecourse until the 1930s and subsequently a golf course. In the World Wars the area was used for a military training camp. From 1927 until the mid-1930s a Royal New Zealand Navy ammunition storage facility was located in the suburb; the munitions were moved to the Kauri Point Armament Depot from 1937. Narrow Neck Plateau
The Narrow Neck Plateau, an eroded remnant of a sandstone layer situated at an elevation of above sea level that is part of the Blue Mountains Range which is a spur line off the Great Dividing Range, is situated immediately south-west of in New South Wales, Australia, located within the Blue Mountains National Park. The neck separates the Jamison Valley (to the east) from the Megalong Valley (to the west). Description From Cliff Drive, Katoomba, the Narrow Neck is accessed via a dirt road called Glenraphael Drive suitable for most two-wheel drive vehicles, subject to good weather conditions, as far as a locked gate.
