Nariman Narimanov
Nariman Karbalayi Najaf oghlu Narimanov (, ; – 19 March 1925) was an Azerbaijanis, Azerbaijani Bolsheviks, Bolshevik revolutionary, writer, publicist, politician and statesman. For just over one year, beginning in May 1920, Narimanov headed the government of Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Azerbaijan. He was subsequently elected chairman of the Union Council of the Transcaucasian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic, Transcaucasian SFSR. He was also Party Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union from 30 December 1922 until the day of his death. In the realm of literature, Narimanov translated into Turkic Nikolai Gogol's ''The Government Inspector'' and wrote many plays, stories and novels, such as ''Bahadur and Sona'' (1896). He was also the author of the historical trilogy, ''Nadir-Shah'' (1899). Nərimanov (also, Narimanov) is a settlement and raion in Baku, Azerbaijan. The administrative territory of the Narimanov district, one of the central districts of Baku, is 24.5 km2, and its population is 170.300 in the official registration date of 01.01.2013. The Narimanov district was founded in 1941. In January 1941, the Executive Committee of the Workers' Council of the Keshla region was established, and in August 1957, the name of Keshla was renamed, and it was renamed into the Executive Committee of the Narimanov District Council of Deputies. In December 1959, the Dzerzhinsky district was abolished, and its territory was included in Narimanov district in January 1960. Narimanov, Astrakhan Oblast
Narimanov () is a town and the administrative center of Narimanovsky District in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia, located on the western bank of the Volga River, northwest from Astrakhan, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: 3,400 (1979). Sadovska (presumably part of Narimanov today) is just about four miles east of the easternmost and farthest point that German troops both occupied in the Soviet Union during World War II, and fought against Soviet troops in a battle, in September 1942. There is no monument about this historic event near Narimanov today. Nariman bey Hashim oglu Narimanbeyov (; 1889–1937), also known as Nariman bey Narimanbeyli (), was an Azerbaijani lawyer and statesman who served as State Controller in the fourth cabinet of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, and was member of Parliament of Azerbaijan. Early years Narimanbeyov was born in 1889 in Shusha, Azerbaijan. After completing his secondary education at an Erivan gymnasium where his father taught, he attended universities in Russian and Ukraine, graduating from Department of Physics and Mathematics of Moscow State University and Law Department of Kharkov State University. While abroad, he was an active member of Azerbaijani students revolutionary movement. In 1915, he returned to Azerbaijan and worked as an attorney.
