History and profile The magazine was started as ''Sarbottam'' in 2002. Two years later it was renamed ''Sarbottam Nari''. The magazine is part of Kantipur Publications. It is published in Nepali on a monthly basis. It is also published to the Nepali diaspora in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and Australia. Upasana Ghimire is the editor of Nari Magazine. Kantipur Publications Pvt. Ltd. () is a media firm based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The company operates five widely circulated print publications. It is the first media organization in Nepal to gain membership to the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN). It was founded by Shyam Goenka in 1993. Kailash Sirohiya is the current chairman of the company while his son, Sambhav Sirohiya, is the managing director. Nepali (; , ), or ''Gorkhali'' is an Indo-Aryan languages, Indo-Aryan language native to the Himalayas region of South Asia. It is the official and most widely spoken Languages of Nepal, language of Nepal, where it also serves as a ''lingua franca''. The current population of Nepal is 29,164,578 as per the 2021 census. The population growth rate is 0.92% per year. In the 2011 census, Nepal's population was approximately 26 million people with a population growth rate of 1.35% and a median age of 21.6 years. ''Kantipur'' ( Nepali: कान्तिपुर) is a Nepali language daily newspaper, published from Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Nepalgunj, and Bharatpur of Nepal simultaneously. It was founded by Shyam Goenka. ''Kantipurs publishers report that the circulation of this newspaper is just above 453,000 copies per day. Founded by in 2009 by Ameet Dhakal, ''República'' is the sister publication of ''Nagarik'', the vernacular Nepali-language daily published by the same company. Overview Ameet Dhakal was the founding editor in chief of the newspaper but resigned in April 2012, whereupon Kosmos Biswakarma took over the editorship.
