Naqeebullah Mehsud
Naseemullah (Urdu/), better known as Muhammad Naqeebullah Mehsud (), was killed on 13 January 2018 in Karachi, Pakistan, during a fake encounter staged by the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Karachi's Malir District, Rao Anwar. On 3 January, Naqeebullah was kidnapped along with two of his friends, Hazrat Ali and Muhammad Qasim, by Rao Anwar's men in plainclothes from Gulsher Agha Hotel in Karachi. On 6 January, both of his friends were freed by the police, but Naqeebullah was kept in captivity, tortured, and then killed on 13 January in a fake encounter in which he was shot twice in the back. Alongside Naqeebullah, three other men (Muhammad Sabir and Muhammad Ishaq from Bahawalpur, and Nazar Jan Mahsud from South Waziristan) were also killed by the police in the encounter; Nazar Jan Mahsud was shot from close range. The Pashteen hat () or Mazari cap () is a red-and-black-patterned hat originating from the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan, which is worn in Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan. Originally associated with the Ethnic groups in Afghanistan#Uzbek, Uzbeks of Afghanistan, the hat gained popularity among many Pashtuns after 2018 because of the rise to prominence of Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), who often wears it. Makeen () or Makin () is a city in the South Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located on the boundary of the North Waziristan district. On its west, it shares a border of 40 Km (25 mi) with Afghanistan's Barmal District and Paktika. Mahsud
The Mahsud (), also spelled as Mehsud, Mahsood and others, is a Karlani Pashtun tribe inhabiting mostly the South Waziristan Agency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The Maseeds usually pronounce their name ''Māsīd''. They are divided into three great clans or subtribes, namely Alizai, Bahlolzai, and Shamankhel. Maseeds usually call these ''Drei Māsīd'', meaning the "Three Maseeds". Each tribe has his own Khan.
