The Napanee Raiders are a Junior ice hockey team based in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History The current Napanee Junior C hockey team found its genesis in the 1960s as a member of the Eastern Junior C Hockey League when the team was known as the Napanee Red Wings and later the Napanee Legion. In 1966 the team changed its name to the Napanee Kelly Tiremen, a name that remained with the team through to the 1980 season. Napanee made several appearances in the Clarence Schmalz Cup playoffs during this era advancing to the cup final in 1963, semi-finals in 1966 and 1967 and the quarter-finals in 1968. In 1980 the Kelly Tiremen became the Napanee Warriors. By this time the Eastern League became the Quinte-St. Lawrence Junior C Hockey league. Greater Napanee
Greater Napanee is a town in southeastern Ontario, Canada, approximately west of Kingston and the county seat of Lennox and Addington County. It is located on the eastern end of the Bay of Quinte. Greater Napanee municipality was created by amalgamating the old Town of Napanee with the townships of Adolphustown, North and South Fredericksburgh, and Richmond in 1999. Greater Napanee is co-extensive with the original Lennox County. The town is home to the Allan Macpherson House, a historic 1826 property that is now a museum. The National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) is a Junior ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada. The league is meant to be an interprovincial league between Ontario and Quebec. History From 1968 until 2010, the league was known as the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League. At the start of the 2010-2011 regular season, the league was rebranded under its new name - National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL). In April 2015, the NCJHL accepted the application of the Morrisburg Lions to join the league for starting in the 2015-2016 season. The Alliston Hornets are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. Starting with the 2016-17 hockey season the Hornets will be members of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Prior to the change they played in the Georgian Mid-Ontario Junior C Hockey League. History The Alliston Hornets were founded in 1971 as a member of the South-Central Junior D Hockey League. In 1973, that league was promoted and renamed the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League and then the Mid-Ontario Junior C Hockey League in 1976. Despite training multiple National Hockey League alumni, the Hornets were in tough in the Mid-Ontario Junior C Hockey League with teams like the Bradford Bulls and the Orangeville Crushers. The Uxbridge Bruins are a Junior ice hockey team based in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada. They play in thePJHL Provincial Junior Hockey League History The Uxbridge Bruins joined the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League in 1975. The Bruins entered into an era where the league was made very competitive by future Junior "A" teams like the Bowmanville Eagles and Lindsay Muskies. The Gananoque Islanders are a Canadian Senior team based out of Gananoque, Ontario. They play in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League. They were members of the Junior C Provincial Junior Hockey League from 2016-2019. For the 15/16 season they played in the Empire B Junior C Hockey League, but were members of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League a Junior B hockey league from 1986 until 2015. The Port Hope Panthers are a junior hockey team based in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. History In 1995, the Trenton Sting made the jump from the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League to the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. In their wake, they formed a feeder team that was to be known as the Brighton Buzz. The Junior C league changed its name to the Empire B Junior C Hockey League just prior to the 1995-96 season to avoid confusion with the Ottawa District Hockey Association's Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League. The Campbellford Rebels are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Tod Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League, and were formerly members of the Empire B Junior C Hockey League of the Ontario Hockey Association. The Port Perry Lumberjacks are a Junior ice hockey team that play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League and based in Port Perry, Ontario, Canada. History The Port Perry Lumberjacks joined the Central Lakeshore Junior C Hockey League in 1972 as the Port Perry Flamingos named after their sponsor, Flamingo Tarts.
