Single Non-transferable Vote
Single non-transferable vote or SNTV is a multi-winner electoral system in which each voter casts a single vote. Being a semi-proportional variant of first-past-the-post voting, under SNTV small parties, as well as large parties, have a chance to be represented. Under SNTV, a single party seldom will take all seats in a city or district, as generally happens with winner-take-all systems. Under certain conditions, such as perfect tactical voting, SNTV is equivalent to proportional representation by the D'Hondt method. SNTV is a combination of multi-member districts and each voter casting just one vote. SNTV can be considered a variant of dot voting where each voter has only one point to assign. 2022 Taiwanese Local Elections
Local elections were held in Taiwan on 26 November and 18 December 2022 to elect county magistrates (city mayors), county (city) councilors, township mayors, township councilors and chiefs of village (borough) in 6 municipalities and 16 counties (cities). Elected officials would serve a four-year term. The election was held alongside the 2022 Taiwanese constitutional referendum. The election resulted in a big loss for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party as all the mayoral and magisterial political candidates in the north were defeated. Nantou City ( Mandarin Pīnyīn: ''Nántóu Shì''; Hokkien POJ: ''Lâm-tâu-chhī'') is a county-administered city located in the northwest of Nantou County, Taiwan. It lies between the Bagua Mountains and the Maoluo River and is the county seat of Nantou County. Freeway No. 3 serves Nantou City. Its name is a transliteration of the Hoanya word ''Ramtau'' with its first character (; "south") chosen to complement that of Beitou's (; "north"), a district in Taipei, even though there is no relation between the aboriginal names. Nantou is the second largest County (Taiwan), county of Taiwan by area, located in the central part of the country. It is also the only non-coastal county in Taiwan.
