Nant Conwy RFC
Nant Conwy Rugby Football Club ( cy, Clwb Rygbi Nant Conwy) is a rugby union team from the upper reaches of the Conwy Valley in North Wales. The club's grounds are located on the B5106 between the town of Llanrwst and the village of Trefriw. They presently play in the Welsh Rugby Union Division One North League. Although Nant Conwy have a short history, having been established only in 1980, they have managed to achieve success on the pitch, earning several division promotions in recent years. In 2007 the club successfully applied for funding to install floodlights at their ground. In 2011 the club opened a new, extended clubhouse. Trefriw
Trefriw () is a village and community (Wales), community in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It lies on the river Crafnant in North Wales, a few miles south of the site of the Roman Britain, Roman castra, fort of Canovium, sited at Caerhun. At the last three censuses the population of the community has been recorded as 842 in 1999, 915 in 2001, and 783 in 2011 (from a total of 368 households). Trefriw lies on the edge of Snowdonia, on the B5106 road to the north-west of Llanrwst, and about 4½ miles north of Betws-y-Coed by road. It is located on the western slopes of the glaciated Conwy valley, below the ridge of Cefn Cyfarwydd, the village having been largely built in a semicircle at the point where the river Crafnant flows from its hanging valley to join the river Conwy. WRU Division One North
The Welsh Rugby Union Division One North (also called the SWALEC Division One North for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union league in Wales first implemented for the 1995/96 season. The league was known as Division Four North before the 2008-09 season. Division One North, Two North and Three North are self-contained leagues within the larger Swalec leagues, and clubs can not be promoted to or demoted from the two leagues. Competition format and sponsorship Competition There are 12 clubs in the WRU Division One North. Llanrwst
Llanrwst ('church or parish of Saint Grwst'; ) is a market town and community on the A470 road and the River Conwy, in Conwy County Borough, Wales, and the historic county of Denbighshire. It developed round the wool trade and became known also for the making of harps and clocks. Today, less than a mile from the edge of Snowdonia, its main pursuit is tourism.
