Namumkin
''Namumkin'' (transl. ''Impossible'') is a 1988 Bollywood mystery film, telling the story of an Asian family exiled from Idi Amin's Uganda. The screenplay was written by Bidhu Jha, who was later elected to the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Plot Shobha ( Zeenat Aman) marries a Canada-based big wealthy businessman Ashok Saxena (Shreeram Lagoo) almost twice her age. On the wedding night, Ashok dies by falling out of his balcony. Sunil Kapoor ( Raj Babbar) and his associate get involved in an investigation due to the one million dollars insurance policy of Ashok. His death seems mysterious as the autopsy report mentioned heavy alcohol was consumed by Ashok, who was known to be a complete teetotaler. Also, Sunil's friend Shakti Kaul ( Vinod Mehra) was earlier engaged to Shobha, so he flies down to Canada to meet Shobha. Hrishikesh Mukherjee (30 September 1922 – 27 August 2006) was an Indian film director, editor and writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of Indian cinema. Popularly known as ''Hrishi-da'', he directed 42 films during his career spanning over four decades, and is named the pioneer of the 'middle cinema' of India. Dr.Shriram Lagoo (16 November 1927 – 17 December 2019) was an Indian film and theatre actor, in Hindi and Marathi, in addition to being an ENT Surgeon. He was known for his character roles in films. He acted in over 250 films including Hindi and Marathi films as well as Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati plays, and directed over 20 Marathi plays. He was also very vocal and active in furthering progressive and rational social causes, for example in 1999, he and social activist G. P. Pradhan undertook a fast in support of anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. He won the 1978 Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Hindi film ''Gharaonda''. Vinod Mehra
Vinod Mehra (13 February 1945 – 30 October 1990) was an Indian actor in Indian films. He started out as a child actor in the late 1950s before starting his film career as an adult in 1971. He acted in over 100 films from the 1970s through to his death at the age of 45 in 1990. He was also the producer and director of the film '' Gurudev'' which was released 3 years after his death. Om Shivpuri (14 July 1938 – 15 October 1990) was an Indian theatre actor-director and character actor in Hindi films. A National School of Drama, New Delhi alumnus, Shivpuri became the first chief of the National School of Drama Repertory Company (1964) and one of its actors. He later founded an important theatre group of its era in New Delhi, Dishantar.
