Namma Veettu Lakshmi
''Namma Veettu Lakshmi'' () is a 1966 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced and directed by B. R. Panthulu. It is a remake of his own Kannada film '' Dudde Doddappa'', released in the same year. Panthulu also stars as the male lead, alongside M. V. Rajamma, A. V. M. Rajan, R. Muthuraman and Nagesh. The film was released on 5 August 1966, and became a commercial success. Plot An ordinary man becomes wealthy in a rags to riches manner through hard work. He lives with his wife Saradamma, two sons and a daughter, who are the opposite of him without the same work ethics. Saradamma is obsessed with a pompous lifestyle. The first son, a graduate, sees himself smarter than his father and disobeys him, while spending lavishly and living leisurely. Sirkazhi Govindarajan (19 January 1933 – 24 March 1988) was a Carnatic vocalist and a playback singer of Indian cinema, predominantly in Tamil cinema. Early life Govindarajan, was born on 19 January 1933 at Sirkazhi (a small town in present-day Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu; famed birthplace of Sambandar, one of the 63 Nayanars of the Saiva faith) to Siva Chidambaram and Avayambal Ammal. At the age of eight, Govindarajan began to perform at the Tirupurasundari Temple on the occasion of the Gnana Paal Festival. ''Lakshman Sruthi'' is a musical consortium founded by V. Raman and V. Lakshmanan in 2003 in Kanchipuram, India. It was preceded by a musical collaboration between the founders that led to an orchestra and the founding of a musical instrument store, a music school and an Indian classical music festival. Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra The ''Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra'' is an orchestra founded by V. Lakshmanan in the name of ''Sruthi Innisai Mazhai'' in 1987 with 10 students; since then, it has performed thousands of times in several Indian languages and across the world. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music.
