Namaacha
Namaacha or Naamacha is a town in southern Mozambique, lying 80 kilometers west of Maputo on the border with Eswatini. It is located in the Lebombos area. It is known for its colonial church and for its waterfall. The town of Namaacha lies in Namaacha District, of Maputo Province. History In the 1960s, Danúbio Nunes, a Portuguese citizen living in Namaacha, publicised the slogan ''Faça da Namaacha a Sintra de Moçambique'' ("Make Namaacha Mozambique's Sintra"), due to some local features, namely the climate, the altitude and the proximity to the capital city, that could make it comparable to the picturesque and historical town of Sintra, in the proximity of Portugal's capital city. Namaacha District
Namaacha District is a district of Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. The principal town is Namaacha. The district is located in the southwest of the province, and borders with Moamba District in the north, Boane District in the east, Matutuíne District in the south, and with Eswatini and South Africa in the west. The area of the district is . It has a population of 41,914 as of 2007. Geography The principal rivers in the district are the Movene River, the Mabenga River, the Calichane River, the Impaputo River, and the Umbelúzi River. Maputo
Maputo (), formerly named Lourenço Marques until 1976, is the capital, and largest city of Mozambique. Lebombos
The Lebombo Mountains, also called Lubombo Mountains ( pt, Montes Libombos), are an , narrow range of mountains in Southern Africa. They stretch from Hluhluwe in KwaZulu-Natal in the south to Punda Maria in the Limpopo Province in South Africa in the north. Parts of the mountain range are also found in Mozambique and Eswatini. Description Geologically, the range is considered a monocline; part of a rifted volcanic margin.
