Nalaya Manithan
''Naalai Manithan'' () is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action horror film directed by Velu Prabhakaran. The film stars Prabhu, Ajay Rathnam, Amala and Jaishankar. It is a remake of the American film ''Silent Rage'' (1982). The film was remade in Kannada as ''Manava 2022'' (1997). A sequel named '' Adhisaya Manithan'' was released a year later. Plot In 2008, Chennai, Dr. Shankar invents a drug which gives back life to the dead if injected within two hours of death. He along with Ramesh and Kanth, experiments the drug on the dead body of a man named John and finds it successful. Unknown to them, the drug induces side effects which makes the recipient immortal and, at the same time murderous. As such, John starts to kill people in the town, the city is soon flooded with murders. Velu Prabhakaran
Velu Prabakaran is an Indian filmmaker, cinematographer and actor. He is known for his themes highlighting atheism and revolutionary subjects in his films. Career Velu Prabakaran began as a cinematographer before making his directorial debut with the 1989 horror film '' Nalaya Manithan'', before also directing its sequel '' Adhisaya Manithan'' (1990). He then made two more consecutive action films under R. K. Selvamani's production in '' Asuran'' and '' Rajali'', with both becoming box office failures. He then worked on action films with lead characters, who often featured as a revolutionary, making '' Kadavul'' (1997), ''Sivan'' (1999) and '' Puratchikkaaran'' (2000). Janagaraj is an Indian actor who has appeared in over 240 films predominantly in Tamil cinema as a comedian or in supporting roles. He also starred in few Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. Early life Janagaraj was born to Vadivelu and Muthulakshmi in Chennai Tamil Nadu. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil-language weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as '' Ponniyin Selvan'' and '' Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. ''Mid-Day'' (stylised as mid-day) is a morning daily Indian compact newspaper. Editions in various languages including Gujarati and English have been published out of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune so far. In 2011, the Delhi and Bangalore editions were closed down.
