Nakas (mountain)
Nakas (; ) also known as Maly Nakas, is a mountain in the Southern Urals, Russian Federation. Its largest part is in Orenburg Oblast, with a small section in Bashkortostan.Google Earth Geography The Nakas rises in northern Tyulgansky District, near the border with Bashkortostan. Rather than a mountain or ridge the Nakas is an elevated area, where its high summit —the highest point of Orenburg Oblast— is only a slightly bulging plateau. Despite the lack of pronounced relief the Nakas forms an important drainage divide, separating the basins of the Belaya (Kama), Belaya, Salmysh and Bolshoy Ik rivers. Flora Nakas is a relatively woody area; its oak and Tilia, linden forests stand out in the surrounding steppes of the region. The Nakas includes the Tugustemirov Forest, a protected area with a number of tree and rare plant species. Orenburg Oblast
Orenburg Oblast (also Orenburzhye) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast), mainly located in Eastern Europe. Its administrative center is the city of Orenburg. From 1938 to 1957, it bore the name Chkalov Oblast in honor of Valery Chkalov. As of the 2021 Census, the oblast had a population of 1,862,767, down from 2,033,072 in the 2010 Census. Geography Orenburg Oblast's internal borders are with the republics of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan to the north, Chelyabinsk Oblast to the north-east, and with Samara and Saratov oblasts to the west. Orenburg Oblast also shares an international border with Kazakhstan to the east and south. The oblast is situated on the boundary between Europe and Asia. Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural or cultural values. Protected areas are those areas in which human presence or the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. firewood, non-timber forest products, water, ...) is limited. Tilia
''Tilia'' is a genus of about 30 species of trees or bushes, native throughout most of the temperateness, temperate Northern Hemisphere. The tree is known as linden for the European species, and basswood for North American species. In Great Britain and Ireland they are commonly called lime trees, although they are not related to the citrus Lime (fruit), lime. The genus occurs in Europe and eastern North America, but the greatest species diversity is found in Asia. A drainage divide, water divide, ridgeline, watershed, water parting or height of land is elevated terrain that separates neighboring drainage basins. On rugged land, the divide lies along topographical ridges, and may be in the form of a single range of hills or mountains, known as a dividing range.
