Nahid Rana
Nahid Rana (born 2 October 2002) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and fast bowler for the Rajshahi Division cricket team in a domestic league. Nahid Rana holds the record for the fastest ball bowled (152.0kph) by a Bangladeshi bowler in international cricket. Early life Nahid grew up in Chapai Nawabganj district, and started playing cricket in 2020. After receiving his Higher Secondary School Certificate in 2020, he started training at a cricket academy in Rajshahi. Initially a net bowler for the Rajshahi Division batters, he impressed scouts through his high-speed bowling. Domestic career Nahid made his first-class debut on October 31st 2021, for Rajshahi Division in the 2021–22 National Cricket League. On October 31st 2022, he claimed his maiden five-wicket haul in first-class cricket, against Barishal Division in the 2022–23 National Cricket League. Cricket At The 2022 Asian Games
Cricket was one of the 37 sports that was played at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Both men's and women's Twenty20 International tournaments were played from 19 September to 7 October 2023. Prior to this edition, cricket was last played at the Asian Games in 2014. The Asian Games were originally planned to take place in September 2022, but were later postponed by one year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fourteen men's teams and nine women's teams took part. 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League
The 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, also known as Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (for sponsorship reasons), is the ninth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. It is being played by the 12 club teams. The tournament started on 15 March 2023. All the matches are being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, BKSP grounds and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. The group phase of the tournament will continue until Eid al-Fitr, while the Super League will begin after the Eid break. Twenty20 (abbreviated T20) is a shortened format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of twenty over (cricket), overs. The Bangladesh Premier League 2023, also known as BPL Season 9 or Ispahani BPL 2023 (for sponsorship reasons) was the ninth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the top-level professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). In July 2022, after the International Cricket Council accommodated the month of January and February for this league in its Future Tours Programme, the BCB announced the schedule of the BPL for the next three seasons. 2022–23 National Cricket League
The 2022 National Cricket League was the twenty-fourth edition of the National Cricket League (NCL), a first-class cricket competition held in Bangladesh. The eight teams taking part were placed into two tiers, with Chittagong Division cricket team, Chittagong Division getting promoted to Tier 1 after their victory in Tier 2 of the 2021–22 National Cricket League, 2021–22 season, replacing Khulna Division who were relegated. The tournament started on 10 October 2022, and concluded on 17 November 2022 with Rangpur Division as champions, their second NCL title. The Barisal Division cricket team or Barisal Blazers is a Bangladeshi first-class team representing the Barisal Division, one of the seven administrative regions in Bangladesh. The team competes in the National Cricket League and was formerly a participant in the now-defunct National Cricket League One-Day. In the short-lived National Cricket League Twenty20 competition, played in the 2009–10 season only, Barisal played in their official green and black colors.
