Nagendra Mahto
Nagendra Mahto (born 1951) is an Indian politician from Jharkhand. He is an MLA from Bagodar Assembly constituency in Giridih District. He won the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party. Early life and education Mahto is from Bagodar, Giridih District, Jharkhand. He is the son of late Lakho Mahto. He completed his B.A. (B.T.) in 1984 at a college affiliated with Ranchi University, Ranchi. Career Mahto won from Bagodar Assembly constituency representing Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election. He polled 1,27,501 votes and defeated his nearest rival, Vinod Kumar Singh of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation, by a margin of 32,617 votes. Jharkhand (; ) is a States and union territories of India, state in East India, eastern India. Giridih District
Giridih district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state, India, and Giridih is the administrative headquarters of this district. As of 2011 it is the third most populous district of Jharkhand (out of 24), after Ranchi and Dhanbad. History Giridh district was a part of Kharagdiha estate till late 18th century. During the British Raj Giridih became a part of Jungle Terry. After Kol Uprising in 1831, the parganas of Ramgarh, Kharagdiha, Kendi and Kunda became parts of the South-West Frontier Agency and were formed into a division named Hazaribag as the administrative headquarters. The Kharagdiha Rajas were settled as Rajas of Raj Dhanwar in 1809, and the Kharagdiha gadis were separately settled as zamindari estates. 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Election
The 2024 Jharkhand Legislative Assembly election was held in three phases from 2024 elections in India, 13 to 20 November 2024 to elect all 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. Bagodar is a village in the Bagodar CD block in the Bagodar-Saria subdivision of the Giridih district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Geography Location Bagodar is located at . The Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation (CPI(ML)L) is a communist political party in India. The party is represented in Bihar and Jharkhand Legislative Assemblies. Since 2023, the party is also a member of the INDIA bloc. In Bihar, the party has significant base amongst the Extremely Backward Castes and the Schedule Castes. It was successful in mobilising Upper Backward Caste groups such as Koeris in some districts of central Bihar, prior to the rise of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
