Nagar Baul
Nagar Baul (English: ''Urban Baul'') is a Bangladeshi rock band that was founded in Chittagong in 1977 by Kumar Bishwajit. The band is considered to be one of the pioneers of rock and blues music in the country. The frontman of the band, James, is referred to as the "Guru of Rock" as a mark of respect. History Nagar Baul started in 1977 and was originally named Feelings and was formed by Kumar Bishwajit. Band members included Ayub Bachchu and James. Ayub Bachchu left the band in 1980. They released their first album, ''Station Road''. James, lead vocal and guitarist, composed all the tracks, and wrote the lyrics for five of them. Though the album was not a hit, the tracks "Ager Jonome", "Amai Jete Dao" and "Rupshagor" enjoyed moderate success. In 1993, they released their second album, ''Jail Theke Bolchhi''. Kumar Bishwajit
Kumar Bishwajit (born 1 June 1963) is a Bangladeshi singer and composer. He received Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer two times for the films ''Swami Streer Wada'' (2009) and ''Ma Amar Chokher Moni'' (2011). He also got the Best Music Composer award for ''Swami Streer Wada''. Early life Bishwajit was born on 1 June 1963, to Sadhan Ranjan Dey and Sova Rani Dey in Sitakunda, Chittagong, Bangladesh. He started his music career by performing on a radio show in 1977. He spent his childhood in Chittagong district and took primary education from Chittagong. He used to come and go to Dhaka for his career. He was first associated with the band ''Rhythm-77'' for 2 years. Then he founded his own band "Feelings" in 1979. Faruq Mahfuz Anam James (born 2 October 1965), known mononymously as James, is a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer, also known as a playback singer. He is the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of the rock band Nagar Baul (previously Feelings). He is often referred by the name "Guru" which means "master" or "teacher". James was born and raised in Naogaon, but grew up in Chittagong city. Shamsur Rahman (; 23 October 1929 – 17 August 2006) was a Bangladeshi poet, columnist and journalist. A prolific writer, Rahman produced more than sixty books of poetry collection and is considered a key figure in Bengali literature from the latter half of the 20th century. He was regarded as the ''unofficial poet laureate'' of Bangladesh. Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon (born 8 January 1973), popularly known by his nickname Bassbaba Sumon, is a Bangladeshi rock singer-songwriter, bass player, composer, music producer and founder of the Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin. Pantha Kanai (born 2 February) is a Bangladeshi singer, drummer, tabla player and music teacher. Early life He was born and brought up in the port city of Chittagong. His mother is a musician. He learned to play the classical tabla at an early age. From the age of six he played classical tabla with his mother.
