The Nagaland Cricket Association Stadium or Sovima Cricket Stadium is a cricket stadium located at Sovima in the Chümoukedima District of Nagaland. It is the only cricket stadium in the northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. In 2012, Nagaland Cricket Association and Government of Nagaland inaugurated a new stadium in Sovima. It had 10.33 crores and contained all the modern technologies. The ground has floodlights so that the stadium can host day-night matches. Chümoukedima District is the 15th district of the Indian state of Nagaland. It was created on 18 December 2021. The district is bounded by Kohima District to the east, Peren District to the south, Tseminyü District & Niuland District to the north-east, Dimapur District to the north and Karbi Anglong District of Assam to the west and north-west. The Nagaland cricket team is a cricket team that represents the state of Nagaland in Indian domestic competitions. In July 2018, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the team as one of the nine new sides that would compete in domestic tournaments for the 2018–19 season, including the Ranji Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, the Telangana Cricket Association questioned the decision to include the team in the Ranji Trophy, stating that there should be qualification criteria to allow a team to compete. National Cricket Academy
The National Cricket Academy is a cricket facility of the BCCI for the purpose of developing young cricketers who have been identified as having the potential to represent the Indian cricket team. It was established in the year 2000 and is located in Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium, Bengaluru, Karnataka in India. The facility is also used for the rehabilitation of injured players. The NCA was the brainchild of cricket administrator and former BCCI President Raj Singh Dungarpur. In 2014, BCCI tied up with both Cricket Australia and the ECB to get experts in for helping draw its new structure. BCCI decided to make these changes along the lines of the state-of-the-art high-performance centres based in Australia and England as part of the revamp of the National Cricket Academy. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps.
