Nadine Mohamed (basketball)
Nadine Mohamed Sayed Soliman Mohamed (; born January 21, 1998), known also as Nadine Selaawi (), is an Egyptian basketball player. She plays for Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team. Early life Mohamed is the daughter of Mohamed and Iman Soliman. She attended Mokattam Language School in Cairo, Egypt and graduated with an academic award. She played college basketball for the University of North Carolina Greensboro Spartans women's basketball. International career Mohamed participated with the Egyptian U16 national team at the 2013 Africa Championship. She also represented the Egyptian U17 national team during the 2014 World Championship, where she averaged 14.3 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 45 percent from the field. In addition, she played for the Egyptian U19 national team during the 2015 World Championship. Al Ahly Women's Basketball () is a basketball club located in Cairo, Egypt that currently plays in the Egyptian Basketball League Top Division. The club, nicknamed ''The Red Devils'', won the Arab Women's Club Basketball Championship in 1996. 2021 Women's Afrobasket
The 2021 AfroBasket Women was the 25th edition of the tournament and held from 18 to 26 September 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The top two teams qualified for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Nigeria defended their title and won their fifth overall title after a finals win over Mali. Cameroon secured bronze on home soil by defeating Senegal. Host selection Cameroon was awarded the hosting rights for the on 12 May 2021 after Ivory Coast withdrawn their bid. 2023 Women's Afrobasket
The 2023 AfroBasket Women was the 26th edition of the tournament and held from 28 July to 5 August 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda. Nigeria won their fourth consecutive and sixth overall title after defeating Senegal in the final. Host selection Rwanda was awarded the hosting rights on 25 May 2023. This was the first time Rwanda has hosted the event and the second time overall in any senior level having hosted the men's tournament in 2021. Format The 12 teams were split into four groups of three teams. The first-placed team qualified to the quarterfinals while the other two teams played in a playoff round. The 2015 FIBA Africa Championship for Women was the 22nd AfroBasket Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and FIBA Africa.
