Nabih Berri
Nabih Mustafa Berri ( ; born 28 January 1938) is a Lebanese politician who has been serving as Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon since 1992. He heads the Amal Movement and its parliamentary wing, Development and Liberation Bloc. Early life and education He was born in Bo, Sierra Leone to Lebanese Shia parents on 28 January 1938. His father, Mustafa Berri, was a trader there. Berri went to school in Tebnine and Ain Ebel in southern Lebanon, then continued his education in Bint Jbeil and Jaafariya supplementary schools in southern Lebanon and later studied at the Makassed and the Ecole de la Sagesse in Beirut. He graduated with a law degree from the Lebanese University in 1963, where he had served as the student body president, and became a lawyer at the Court of Appeals. Nabih Youssef, S.E., F.A.S.C.E (May 29, 1944 – July 12, 2024) was an American structural engineer, most recognized for his work in seismic engineering. Youssef is recognized for translating academic structural engineering concepts into practical applications, most notably through the base isolation technique employed in the Los Angeles City Hall renovations. His significant achievements also include advancements in Performance-based building design and the use of a Steel plate shear wall in areas of high seismic risk. Nabih Saleh () is an island of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. It lies in the Tubli Bay, east of Bahrain Island, and is south of the capital, Manama, on Bahrain Island. Etymology The island is named for the formerly separate islands of Nebbi and Saleh. The island was named after the Shi'ite holy man, Salih, who received the title "Nabih Saleh" due to his asceticism and was buried on the island, where his tomb, the Shrine of Nabih Saleh, still stands.
