NXT is a Farm team, developmental brand of the American professional wrestling Professional wrestling promotion, promotion WWE, serving as a training ground for wrestlers before they move to WWE's main roster on either Raw (WWE brand), Raw or SmackDown (WWE brand), SmackDown. Introduced on February 23, 2010, NXT features a separate roster of wrestlers who primarily appear on the brand's weekly television program, ''WWE NXT, NXT''. Unlike Raw and SmackDown, which are affected by WWE's WWE brand extension, brand extension, NXT operates as a developmental system regardless of whether a brand split is in effect. A professional wrestling promotion is a company or business that regularly performs shows involving professional wrestling. "Promotion" also describes a role which entails management, advertising and logistics of running a wrestling event.
