NPO Zappelin Xtra
NPO Zappelin Extra was a digital theme TV channel jointly operated by AVROTROS, Evangelische Omroep, EO, KRO-NCRV, Omroep NTR, NTR and VPRO. The TV channel launched as Zappelin 24 on 30 May 2009. The channel broadcast daily from 3:30am to 8:30pm, timesharing with Familie 24 overnight. However, at launch, UPC Nederland left out the channel from its digital offer. Broadcasting It broadcasts replays and broadcasts from NPO Zapp and NPO Zappelin, via the cable and internet. The TV channel was part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting, Nederlandse Publieke Omroep. On 10 March 2014, Zappelin / Zapp 24 changed its name into NPO Zapp Xtra. NPO Zapp Extra became a 24-hour channel on 25 December 2018 and was renamed NPO Zappelin Extra. NPO Zapp Extra used to time-share with NPO 1 Extra until 25 December 2018 and has since taken over the former frequency of the defunct tv channel, NPO 3 Extra. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for Digitization, digitizing 625 lines, 625 line Analog television, analogue television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy colour encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL#PAL region, PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. The ''576'' identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the ''i'' identifies it as an Interlaced video, interlaced resolution. NPO Politiek en Nieuws is a public television channel operated by the public broadcaster NOS, which supplies news and sports to all national public television and radio networks. Programmes come live from The Hague when the parliament is in session. When the parliament was not in session the ''NPO Politiek en Nieuws'' channel became '' NPO Sport'', broadcasting sporting events or news and current affairs, supplied by the NOS. On 15 December 2021, NPO Nieuws merged with NPO Politiek to make the present name of this channel. Before 10 March 2014 the channel was called Politiek 24. ''Pat & Mat'' (Czech and Slovak: ''Pat a Mat'') is a Czechoslovak slapstick stop-motion silent animated series created by Lubomír Beneš and Vladimír Jiránek. The characters first appeared in the theatrically released short ''Kuťáci'' (''Tinkers'') in 1976, while the first made-for-TV episode "Tapety" ("Wallpaper") was produced for ČST Bratislava three years later. The main characters of the series are two handymen, Pat and Mat, who are inventive and extremely clumsy. As of 2025, 129 episodes of the show have been released, and it has been syndicated in a large number of countries due to its lack of dialogue (except in the Dutch version, which is dubbed). ''Cars Toons'' is an American animated short series based on the ''Cars'' franchise. It features Lightning McQueen, Mater, and their friends in comedic antics and adventures canonical to the films. Larry the Cable Guy reprises his role as Mater while Keith Ferguson replaces Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen until "The Radiator Springs 500 ½", when Wilson reprises his role. The Smurfs
''The Smurfs'' (; ) is a Belgian comic franchise centered on a fictional colony of small, blue, humanoid creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. NPO Zappelin is a Dutch television program block for younger children that launched as Z@ppelin in September 2000. The brand was created as a counterbalance to violent programming on its commercial competitors. Before Z@ppelin, the programmes were scheduled on all three public channels (Nederland 1, 2, and 3).
