NPO Radio 1
NPO Radio 1 is a public-service radio channel in the Netherlands, and is part of the Netherlands Public Broadcasting, NPO. It featured mostly news, talk, and sport programming with a variety of music (from classic hits to oldies to adult contemporary to ethnic music). History Its history dates back to 1924, when the first omroeps started sharing time on two longwave transmitters. In 1930, these stations started broadcasting on medium wave. Shortly before World War II, there were already two radio stations out of Hilversum, which were later captured by the Germans. With the end of occupation, a new station operating out of Lopik started, while Radio Nederland reclaimed its former frequencies in January 1946, during the transitional government. The channel originated in its current form in 1947 as "Hilversum 2", and transmitted using its original name until 1 December 1985, when the name was changed to "Radio 1", and remained so until becoming "NPO Radio 1" in 2014. NPO FunX
NPO FunX is a Dutch public radio station which has been on air since 3 August 2002. The station runs mainly urban music. The station is aimed at an audience of young people between 15 and 34 years. It concentrates on such music styles as R&B, Hip hop, Latin, Reggae, Dancehall, French-African Hip Hop, Oriental, Arabpop, Farsipop, Turkpop, Banghra, Rai, Mandopop, and various crossover styles. The station aims to give "street" opinions airtime and follows the latest trends. There are four local city editions of FunX: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht, and since 6 September 2005 a national edition. Nederlandse Omroep Stichting
The (; NOS or rarely ; ) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Dutch public broadcasting system. It has a special statutory obligation to make news and sports programmes for the three Dutch public television channels and the Dutch public radio services. It is funded by the Dutch government. The foundation's remit derives from the Dutch Media Act 2008, which stipulates that the NOS produce regular and frequent programming of a public service nature, including, notably, a full and impartial news service and coverage of parliamentary procedures and debates, as well as reporting on sporting and other national events. The NOS also acts as a technical coordinator for the Dutch public broadcasting system as a whole. Human (stylised as HUMAN; earlier Humanistische Omroep and HOS: English: ''Humanist Broadcaster'') is a special broadcaster on the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system, which is allowed to broadcast on radio and television because of their spiritual background. AVROTROS
AVROTROS () is a Dutch radio and television broadcaster that is part of the Dutch public broadcasting system. It was founded in 2014 as the result of a merger between the Algemene Vereniging Radio Omroep (AVRO) and the TROS, Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS). The name AVROTROS has been used for jointly produced programmes since 1 January 2014. Since 7 September 2014, all existing AVRO and TROS programmes have also been broadcast under the name AVROTROS. Building Before 2014, the AVRO was housed in the building in Hilversum from 2000, while the TROS operated from the former Christelijk Lyceum, also in Hilversum, from 1970.
